BRING WARMTH
WITH YOUR
HEART
Help us keep children warm during the freezing season in the peruvian andes
The purpose of SONQO – “heart” in quechua – is to bring warmth to the greatest number of children in the coldest places in Peru.
Every year, freezing temperatures affect the Peruvian Andes. Children living in extreme poverty are amongst the most affected.
We are a local peruvian alternative, without political interference, completely ad honorem, that uses every penny raised to make and deliver the jackets to the beneficiaries.
Learn more about us by downloading our infographic, where you can find out more about our purpose and the jackets we make.
We raise funds through direct donations or fundraising events.
We make specially designed jackets, made at cost, to protect from the freezing temperatures.
We take the jackets to the most affected areas and distribute them directly to each child.
Freezing temperatures in Peru take lives every year, especially children, who are the most vulnerable. But we can do something about it. Everyone can. We know that people’s potential for solidarity is immense, and we believe that Sonqo is the spark that can light their hearts to help.

Let’s help those who need us the most.
Let’s help those who need us the most.
SONQO was born in 2015 as an initiative from friends, alumni of Markham College, and today it is a formal non-profit organization. Multiple people provide their ad-honorem support as their interest is to use every cent of the donations to help the children that suffer the most during the cold seasons in Peru. Our goal is to produce thermal jackets that are delivered to the children in the communities that need it the most.
